Cara gave some helpful advice on managing social media accounts for you and your business. If you missed Tuesday’s webinar, here’s a quick recap:
-Aim to maintain 2-3 different social media accounts. Using different platforms will broaden your audience and help you develop different skills. Link your social media accounts so your followers can access all of your content!
-Choose a theme for each day with your posts (Makeover Monday, Tips & Tricks Tuesday, etc). You don’t need to announce the theme to your audience, but you can still make a commitment to yourself to post content on certain days.
-Don’t separate your personal page from your Maskcara page, after all, your business is a significant part of your life! Set a goal to have a ratio of 1 Maskcara post for every 4 posts on your social media. You are not one dimensional and your social media account shouldn’t be either!
-The old saying goes, “Fail to plan, plan to fail.” When setting up a content day, come prepared! Team up with some of your Maskcara sisters and take turns having content photographed, being the photographer, and babysitting the kids while you work! This is a cheap and efficient way to get the most out of your content days and bond with fellow artists in the process. Keep a running list throughout the week of any ideas you might want to include, Pintrest boards that inspire you, unique photo ideas, etc. The more ideas, the better.
-Check out Jessica Janae’s Live on the MAG FG page for a TON of tips when photographing your content. She gives amazing advice on finding quality, natural lighting, using the camera on your phone, how to play with your angles to find the most flattering positions, and so much more.
One of the best tools to use on IG is the Highlights feature that saves important content right at the top of your page so your followers see it as soon as they get on your account. Here’s a step by step guide on how to utilize this feature. It’s worth playing with to personalize your highlights to your style so your followers have a quick look at what you’re all about.
To add a story to a highlight:
- Go to your profile and tap Story Highights below your username and bio.
- Tap .
- Tap to select the story or stories you want to add to highlights, then tap Next.
- Choose a cover photo and enter a story name for your highlight, then tap Add (iPhone) or Done (Android). You can add more photos or videos to your highlight at any time by tapping Edit Highlight.
And we’ve got a TON of new, adorable icons just for you to use for your Highlights or any other social media platform!! We’ve added them to HQ under Marketing Materials so you always have access to them!
Maskcara takes care of providing customers with promos and discounts- it’s against policy for artists to use their own promotions, discounts, or giveaways associated with orders. Visit the link on HQ to review all of Maskcara’s Policies and Procedures. Some examples of promos that are not affiliated with an order would be “Follow my (social media) account for a chance to win (prize)” or “Refer (number) of friends for a color match and receive (gift)”. The important difference to remember is if it is tied to an order, it is against policy, and if it is not tied to an order, it is not against policy.
We are so excited to have the Party drop down menu to simplify the registration process. Because this feature is available, the Ask team will no longer be able to assign customers to a party order. If you missed last week’s newsletter, we’ve included a step by step video on how the drop down works and where it is located. Pass this video along to your team so they can check it out!
The list view is now live for the downline display!! You can arrange the list view to appear alphabetically, by rank, etc. However you want it, you got it!
If you haven’t gotten your ticket yet, we still have just over a few hundred left! Keep checking HQ to get a look at who will be speaking and view the schedule for this incredible event. And don’t forget, Cara will be teaching MULTIPLE classes so you really don’t want to miss out!! It all starts off on Thursday with our kickoff event, Love Never Wasted, which you can still qualify for! Here’s (link) a reminder of how to! We cannot wait to see you at DREAM.
Now go set yourself up for success, Gorgeous!
